New mold! Following a long trial phase, including some technical obstacles, the first series production aircraft of the transport A400M were delivered in 2013. The A400M was developed to replace the quickly aging Transall C-160 and Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport and surpasses both in terms of range and freight capacity. EC-404 was the fourth test aircraft and received the nickname "Grizzly 4". Later on, the official nickname of the A400M was changed to "Atlas", named after the world-carrying titan of Greek mythology.
