Assigned to the 323rd BS at Bassingbourn on February 24, 1944, this aircraft was named "Nine O Nine" by the bomber's radioman Jack Grosh after the last three digits in its serial number. The aircraft set a new Eighth Air Force record by completing 126 missions (out of a total of 140) without a single abort. "Nine O Nine" returned to the USA on June 8, 1945, and was scrapped in Kingman, Arizona, the following year.
