F-117 #79-10782, nicknamed "Scorpion 3", was the third of five Full Scale Development aircraft produced for the test program. Originally painted all gray, #782 was repainted in the now familiar flat black and given a colorful Stars and Stripes sheme on the underside in November 1983 when the F-117 was first officially unveiled to high ranking officials, including Secretary of Defense Casper Weinberger. These patriotic markings were eventually painted over with with flat back as the aircraft continued on in the test program.
