F-15C #85-0102 is credited with scoring three kills during the Operation Desert Storm. On January 21st 1991, Capt. Dave "Logger" Rose, callsign "Chevron 17", used an AIM-7 to shoot down an Iraqi MiG-23 Flogger. On February 7th 1991, Capt. Tony "ET" Murphey, callsign "Chevron 22", downed a pair of Su-22 Fitters, again using AIM-7s. After returning to the US, the aircraft became the 33rd Tactical Fighter Wings flagship and was flown by Col. Rick Parsons. The aircraft was decorated with the "Gulf Spirit" nose-art and wore three Iraqi flags on its nose to denote its victories, along with a green star denoting Parson's own kill during the Gulf War.
