June 19, 2017 a Su-27 Flanker Red 93 did an intercept on a USAF RC-135U. This maneuver was conducted at high speed and closed to within twenty feet of the RC-135U deeming it to be very unsafe for both aircraft. Red 93 was manufactured with c/n 36911031105 and given serial RF-33749. Su-27 Flanker B Red 93 wears the markings of the VMF Rossia (VMF - Volga Military Fleet) indicating it is a naval aircraft. The waving-red-banner is a Guard badge indicating an elite status unit as far back as Tsarist times.
