In 2004, the Fourth Squadron based in Grosseto, Tuscany, converted to the all-purpose fighter. In 2009, the squadron accomplished its 10,000th flight hour (Italian: "diecimila ore") on the Eurofighter and to mark this occasion, decorated the tail unit with a special livery.
