Of the 138 Typhoons, currently operated by the Royal Air Force, 20 aircraft are two-seat, fully combat-capable trainers. The majority of these Typhoon T3s are part of No 29 Squadron, tasked with training pilots converting to the Eurofighter. The model is equipped with two drop tanks as well as the usual single air-to-air practice missile on an outboard pylon for target detection.
